Service overview

Sample development gives the customer and production team a chance to evaluate a product before confirming a larger order. A physical sample can show whether the design and written specification translate into a usable garment and can identify changes before bulk manufacturing.

Why sampling matters

A sample can reveal fit issues, unexpected fabric behavior, construction concerns, color differences and branding placement problems. It also provides a physical reference for the approved product version.

What to inspect

Review overall fit, key measurements, garment balance, seam quality, hems, collars, closures, pockets, print or embroidery quality, color and finishing. Build the checklist around the actual product rather than relying on a generic list alone.

Useful revision feedback

Make feedback specific and measurable. Identify the location of a problem and the desired adjustment. Keep a dated record of revisions and label each sample so everyone can distinguish current and outdated versions.

Approval before production

Once the sample meets the agreed requirements, record approval of design, materials, measurements, branding and relevant tolerances. Bulk production should use the approved specification and artwork, not an earlier draft.

Plan the sample stage

Provide garment type, size, material preferences, artwork, expected quantity, target date and the questions the sample should answer. Availability, charges and timing should be confirmed for the specific project.

Important: Availability, options, minimum quantities, pricing and timing depend on the confirmed project. Verify these details before committing to an order or production schedule.

Typical project workflow

1. Share requirementsProvide the product brief, references, quantities, artwork and intended use.
2. Review specificationsConfirm options, approvals, measurements, materials and sample requirements.
3. Confirm next stepsDocument the approved scope, quotation, timing and quality expectations.

Frequently asked questions

Is a sample always required?

It depends on complexity and risk. Sampling is often useful for new designs or unfamiliar materials.

Can bulk items differ from the sample?

Production should follow the approved specification, but variation can occur. Agree inspection criteria in advance.

How many revisions are included?

The number and scope of revisions should be agreed before work begins.
